Strange Fall Audiobook

6 Nov

I’ve been meaning to release audio versions of some of my previous titles for some time now. At long last, I am happy to announce that the audiobook edition of Strange Fall is available on Audible!

StrangeFall2Winnie McKeller is lost in her own home, alone in the town that she has lived in since the day she was born. Her world has been shaken. Death has been haunting her family for the past year, and on one unusual night, each member of her family will be forced to confront their pain and fight to put the pieces of their lives back together.

Winnie’s journey will lead her through the back roads and dark woods of her quiet town. She will find herself cut off from everything she knows, in pursuit of a mysterious stranger with no pulse and a Y-shaped incision on his chest.

As the night unfolds, Winnie’s mother will encounter a dangerous woman who claims to be a witch. Her father will seek supernatural help in an attempt to understand what lies beyond the veil that separates this life from the next. And her closest friend will be tormented by shadows that threaten to drag her into darkness.

Autumn has always had a special sort of feeling to it. Outside, the leaves are changing and the air is crisp. It’s the time of year when weird things happen… And this is going to be a Strange Fall.

For those who are not yet familiar with Audible, it’s a great way to listen to books on the go. And they offer a free audiobook with their free trial, so it’s a pretty sweet deal. Give it a look!

Keep an eye out in the coming weeks, because I will also be releasing an audiobook edition of Spirit of Christmas pretty soon!

If you have a favorite Kyle Andrews book that you’d like to see in audiobook form, please let me know! You can send an email to kyle(at)authorkyleandrews.com

24 Jan

The sixth and final book in my Freedom/Hate series is now available for digital download (paperback version coming in the near future)! Head over to Amazon and download your copy of If We Falter today! If We Falter Kindle Cover

For decades, their country has been ruled by the authorities and patrolled by HAND. For nearly as long, Freedom has been working in the shadows, hoping for a day when they would be able to take back their nation. They have already reclaimed their home city. They have begun building an army. They also have three well-placed spies in the nation’s capital… The problem is, they don’t know it.

Justin, Marti and Geo have spent over a year building lives in Washington D.C. They sleep in comfortable beds. They eat all the best foods. They attend fancy events, dressed in the finest clothes. They have been cut off from their friends and allies, waiting for their chance to help Freedom win the war. That opportunity arrives when they gain information that could lead Freedom to complete annihilation, or their greatest victory. The Nation’s future rests in their hands.

“One way or another, it’s going to end here.

I want to say thank you to everyone who has read the series, or will read it in the future (if you’re allowed to, that is). I look forward to introducing all of you to the other crazy stories that are swimming around in my head, and maybe revisiting one or two worlds that I’ve already put out there.

Stay tuned.

Freedom/Hate Book 6 is Coming!

6 Jan

The end of Freedom/Hate is on its way. If you’ve read the end of book 5 (Outbound), you were probably expecting book 6 to be released in December. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to release the book when I had hoped.

While most elements are ready to go, the book hit a snag in the process of being published. I chose to push back the release until it could be done with the best possible presentation.

If you are waiting for book 6, rest assured that it will be out within the next few weeks. Keep an eye on this blog for updates.

As I said above, the final book in the series will be out soon. If We Falter is everything that this series has been building up to since page one of book one. The fate of Freedom will be decided, once and for all!

Battle Cry (Freedom/Hate, Book 4)

22 Mar

Battle Cry Kindle Cover

For years, Freedom has waited for their opportunity to wage war against the authorities. They have hidden in shadows, preparing for they day when they would take back the rights that were stolen from them.

Justin now serves the authorities. As a HAND officer, he patrols the streets, violating everything that he believes in, all in the hope that his position may someday give Freedom the edge it needs to win this war. Each day, he loses a piece of who he was. Each night, he prays that his sacrifice will justify his sins.

From the Campus, Collin’s team continues to spread Freedom’s message to as many citizens as possible. They have expanded their operation beyond a simple newspaper. Now they spread the stories and history that the authorities have tried to keep from the citizens for decades. They produce original stories, to reflect their own fight, but it’s not enough to spread words. Freedom starts with an idea, but it cannot end there.

As Freedom waits for their chance to fight, millions are tuned in to watch the biggest sporting event of the year. A child, Mandi Hollinger, has been chosen to recite a pledge that she can barely remember. She is led onto a field which is covered in more green grass than she has ever seen in her life. Her parents watch from the sidelines, too scared to breathe, and longing for this day to be over. Mandi stands before the microphone and begins to speak.

With one slip of the tongue, everything will change.

Right now, only the Kindle version of the book is available to order. For those who hate the idea of reading a book on some newfangled device, the paperback is coming within the next few weeks.

With this book, we officially enter the second half of this six-part series. Big things are about to happen!

How the Sausage is Made

11 Oct

As I write this, I am avoiding work. Today, “work” means “formatting for Kindle”.

Yes, there are programs that do this. Yes, there are probably a million different ways that I could make my life easier by using one of those programs. But instead of using any of those, I am looking at an HTML version of my book in Notepad, editing my starting point, my ending point and my table of contents by hand.

Freedom/Hate is Now Available!

20 Apr

Freedom Hate - Full Res

I interrupt this blog filled with Batman v Superman, and Marvel v DC rants, to inform you that my latest book Freedom/Hate is now available for purchase on Amazon, in both Kindle and paperback formats!

The story is set several decades in the future. The world has changed. Terrorist attacks have contaminated crops, and the economy has collapsed. People are no longer in charge of putting food on their own table or a roof over their own head. They don’t even choose where they work.

The authorities are in control now. They are the providers. They make the rules, and they have created a society that will not question them. To do so is a crime.

Collin Powers is a young man whose instinct tells him to ask questions and seek answers. He has a thirst for knowledge and a love of books. As a low-level member of a rebel group, Collin is tasked with transporting books from one place to another. When one of those runs goes horribly wrong, Collin is forced to flee from the authorities. He is a fugitive, known to the world as a terrorist and murderer.

Libby Jacobs has nothing to do with any rebellion. She is a high school girl, whose life is hard enough without breaking any laws or questioning the authorities. Her mother is sick. Every day, her mother’s condition seems to worsen and the burden on Libby grows. Adding to Libby’s stress is her cousin, Uly. He is hiding something from Libby, and she knows it. His secret could endanger them all.

Freedom/Hate is book one in a six part series. Click Here to purchase your copy, or click on the book cover image above.

After you read it, I’d love to know what you think. Good or bad, all reviews posted to Amazon and Goodreads are very much appreciated. Every review helps an author understand their readers’ perspective, and build their audience.

Book Review: Domino

26 Mar

Having read Kia Heavey’s other books, I was already a fan of her work by the time her Kindle Scout campaign was launched. Voting for Domino was a safe bet to make, and I’m glad that I did.

Domino tells the tale of a cat’s struggle to hold onto its territory and it’s purpose in the world, as those around him insist that he must change his nature and embrace the more enlightened way of doing things. This new philosophy is brought to Domino’s neighborhood by a city cat named Socrates, who allies himself with not only a dog, but an ever-growing swarm of rats who begin to infest the territories of neighborhood cats, eating their food and endangering their lives, all in the name of progress.

Others have compared this story to Animal Farm, so I won’t do that. This fable is capable of standing on its own as a reflection of the world we live in today, with the “adapt or die” mentality that so many people have preached in recent years. The story illustrates the difference between blindly giving of yourself until there is nothing left to give, and working with those who you don’t necessarily like or agree with in order to achieve a greater good.

Domino is a book that will appeal to readers of most ages. While some of the descriptions may be a little gory for very young readers (we are talking about cats and rats after all), there is nothing done in poor taste or in an attempt to sensationalize violence. The story explores themes of family and social bonds, and the priorities that must be established within those relationships. It does this without getting preachy or saccharine. Truth be told, I’m more of a dog person, but Domino had me cheering for a cat. That has to mean something. I highly recommend this book for both parents and their children. It would be a great way to start a discussion about the world we live in.

Domino is now available on Amazon, both in paperback and digital formats. You can find it by clicking here.

Remember to leave a review if you do read it! Reviews help authors learn from your reading experience, and they let other readers know which authors can be depended on for a good read.
